Since ClearType and Adobe Reader implemented anti-aliasing and TrueType manual hinting, it is possible to raise readability under both environments. For English characters, the key is to make the character has an even proportion and a perfect round lower case "o". For Chinese, the key is to make every character large enough so that most parallel horizontal/vertical strokes are legible.
