Let me make an analogy.
An analogy between programs and recipes.
Program is a lot like a recipe.
Each one is a list of steps to be carried out,
with rules for how to tell when you’re done,
and when to go back.
At the end, there is a certain result.
If you cook, you probably exchange recipes with your friends.
And you probably change recipes too.
And if you’ve made changes and you like results,
your friends like eating it, then you might
give them the changed version of the recipe.
So imagine the world where you can’t change a recipe,
because somebody has gone out of his way
to set it up so that its impossible to change it.
And imagine that if you share the recipe with your friends
they will call you a pirate and try to put you in prison
for years.
I am not against business. I don’t believe in abolishing business. I do business myself. But I believe business should not dominate all of life. The rules of society should not be chosen primarily to please business.
Free Software Song:
Join us now and share the software; You'll be free, hackers, you'll be free. Repeat Hoarders may get piles of money, That is true, hackers, that is true. But they cannot help their neighbors; That's not good, hackers, that's not good. When we have enough free software At our call, hackers, at our call, We'll throw out those dirty licenses Ever more, hackers, ever more. Join us now and share the software; You'll be free, hackers, you'll be free. Repeat
as far as i know, some US colleges use cooking to help those girl students in CS to learn programming…
